Cosa è successo il weekend

1) Peter Pan è andato in scena all'asilo. Siamo stati fantastici.

I never thought that I could write reviews of things – you need to have opinions that are too sudden for my liking; I know my ‘thin-slicing’ capabilities are often quite limited. And so it’s true that I tend to say ‘it was lovely’ rather than expressing my own opinion.

But my own opinion came out at lunch today with the children. I’m not sure exactly how the topic came up but we were talking about last night. As the children talked about what they’d seen, and your ‘ypsilon’ (which they imitated rather well), I thought about what I’d seen. About my little thing standing at the back of the stage, miming the words to the songs, acting the drunken pirate and doing the dances. I thought about how there was such a mix of people on the stage but that the majority actually wanted to be up there in front of an audience doing dances or singing.
‘But do you realise what a special mummy you have? I don’t think she really likes being up there with all those people watching her, do you? And do you know why she did it? It was all for you! That’s why she’s special.’
But I doubt that anyone watching really knew that your natural habitat is not a stage (your parents had to ask me which one you were; you did look bigger). You were fantastic. You were the model of all the things that we try to teach the children. Thought turned into action.

And now I’m going to look at your blog – not just because it’s you but because it’s damn good, and even the comments are interesting – yet another of your talents! And another set of thoughts turned into actions.

2) E' arrivato Titiroconlafionda, altrimenti detto Barbecue, ufficialmente Sciarpina.
